Mpumalanga
- "the place where the sun rises" - is a province in
the north-east of South Africa, with spectacular scenic
beauty and an abundance of wildlife.
As a destination it has a lot to offer its visitors. Sharing
borders with Mozambique and Swaziland, it has many unique
cultural aspects and is of course the gateway to the Kruger
National Park.
Being based in the town of White River allows us to make all
the necessary arrangements here at ground level to ensure
your event is a success. We will always be there to help
make you and your delegates feel comfortable and at home and
to create the right environment for a successful conference.
We realise the need to keep improving the level of friendly
service that Mpumalanga is well known for, and we understand
the importance of each and every event, function and
conference held in our home province.

Access
& Logistics
Key areas of interest are easily reached via the Kruger
Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). A domestic flight
from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport takes only 1½ hours,
and you land close to the southern edge of the Kruger
National Park. There are also other smaller airports with
scheduled flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Alternatively, the road network in Mpumalanga is well
developed with the National Highway and toll road (N4)
linking the capital Nelspruit to Johannesburg, The N4 also
forms part of the Maputo Corridor, which will improve
transport between the province and neighbouring Mozambique.
Going Africa Conferencing has long-standing
relationships with a number of trusted transfer companies.
Working together with these local operators, we ensure that
high standards are maintained of both the vehicles and the
driver/guides.

Attractions
Extending over 2 million hectares, “Kruger” has to be the
greatest attraction on offer here. It is, however, not the
only reason to visit Mpumalanga and we are always looking to
promote some of the impressive but lesser-known sites and
attractions. Below are just a few of the more obvious areas
of interest:
•
Kruger National Park
• Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve
• The Panoramic Route
• Blyde River Canyon
• God’s Window
• Cultural tours to rural community areas
and schools
• Trout fishing (Dullstroom, Lydenburg)
• Pilgrims Rest and the historical gold-
mining
towns
• Waterfalls, caves & canyons
•
Close proximity to Mozambique &
Swaziland
• Birding |

Climate
The Lowveld (the area below 1 000m, also known as “The
Bushveld”) is mostly subtropical, due to its proximity to
the warm Indian Ocean off the coast of nearby Mozambique.
The province’s Highveld regions are comparatively cooler,
mainly due to a higher altitude of 2 300 to 1 700m above sea
level. The Drakensberg escarpment receives the most rain,
with all the other areas being moderately well watered by
mostly summer thunderstorms. The Highveld can experience
winter frost, but the Lowveld and Kruger Park is a
frost-free area. Winters are usually dry with the majority
of rain falling in the summer months.
The average temperatures of the Lowveld range from a minimum
of 8 to 24°C (46
to 75°F) in the winter, rising to around 21 to
32°C (70 to 90°F) in the height of summer. |
